Tiny Dancers at the Beach

About a year ago I made my first post about my Tiny Dancers. Walt and Emmie are still my Tiny Dancers. As they get bigger their dancing just gets better. While at the beach one evening we did glow sticks and then Walt provided the music while he, Emmie, and Addison danced. Emmie started out with a very fast dance, but the following video captures the best part. This was a part of our dance practice for the upcoming weddings.

Lauren & Bobby's Wedding

This summer has been full of celebrations and parties in preparation for two family weddings. Bobby and Lauren, Boyd's cousin, got married the last weekend in July. This was a long anticipated wedding, as they too are high school sweethearts. What a wonderful and happy couple. Lauren and Bobby were so sweet to have Walt be the ring bearer. He was so excited. We watched my wedding video several times so he could see a ring bearer in action. We practiced carrying his baby pillow all over the house. And, since they were having a band, Walt and Emmie practiced their dance moves a good bit before the big day. It was such a fun wedding. Lauren was beautiful, everything went perfectly. Walt did really well. It was slightly stressful for me to keep him quite during the service, but he did great! And, the reception was so much fun. Walt and Emmie and everyone else danced their harts out.

Edisto Beach

Where has the summer gone?!?!?! I have a lot of catching up to do. In July, we spent a week down at Edisto Beach with Boyd's family and it was great. Edisto is one of those great old family beaches that really takes you back in time. There really isn't much to do other than go to the beach and hang out with family and friends. Everyone knows that I tend to take a lot of pictures, and I think I got a little carried away with my camera on this trip. So...here are a couple of the best that Alicia, Boyd, and I took.

Aunt Caroline and Coach Lee brought Walt his very own watermelon that was just his size. Watermelon is Walt and Emmie's favorite. When Coach Lee told him it came from the farm, Walt said, "What kind of animals do you have?" Coach Lee has a blueberry farm, no animals. It took a little understanding that it wasn't like Old MacDonald.

What a girl, hanging out in the kitchen with Meme, Granny, and Mommy. A few minutes later, Emmie laid her head on the counter, and said, "Meme, I so tired."

Walt had eyes only for Aunt Alicia. He wanted to go get in her bed every morning. When I asked him one morning why he wanted to snuggle with Aunt Alicia instead of me, he said,
"She loves me!" I was chopped liver that day compared to Alicia. It was really sweet though, and she is really good to Walt. I'm pretty sure he somehow has an extra bond with Alicia because she kept him when I went back to work when he was an infant.
