Silly Boy!!!
After baths tonight, I asked Walt to go put his pull up and pajamas on while I dressed Emmie. Once Emmie's pajamas were on, Walt came running out in ONLY his boots and said, "Look, my boots, I got them on all by myself." He was so proud he ran around the house and into the backyard to show Boyd his boots. We are still laughing!

4th of July Weekend
This is how it's supposed to be, life that is. We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend. I love when Boyd has a day off to play with us! All weekend I thought to myself, what a great weekend, this is so much fun. I love our life! Walt has been wanting some time for just Walt and mommy lately. So, Friday morning Walt and I went for a long walk to the Pirate Park and played together. After running errends, our friends from college, Amy and Bobby, came over for dinner. It was fun to catch up with them before they have their first baby next week. When we told Walt Amy has a baby in her tummy, he said, "You ate a baby?!?!?! That's YUCK!" We did a little explaining that she did not eat a baby, but determined maybe we need a book. :) On Saturday, we had a slow start to a long day making pancakes here and then going to the festivities on DI. We met one of Walt's new best friends at the park to watch the Kazoo man perform and see the parade. We splashed at the pool. Granny and Aunt Nancy came over for burgers and sparklers. Then, we took the kids to watch the fireworks from the car. We got where you can see the Patriots Point display over the bridge around 9:30 and had to wait for 30 minutes. I tell you, it was amazing how much energy Walt and Emmie still had at 10pm! Needless to say, Sunday morning we were all a little tired. We did go out on the boat in the afternoon and pulled up to a little beach for the kids to play. Sunday was Tucker's lucky day, as he got to go on his first boat ride. He loved it! We had such a full and fun weekend. I am so thankful that we are getting to do all of these fun things with the kids. I think it is safe to say we are all LOVING the low country life!
Air Show
During the Tall Ship exhibit we took the kids downtown to see the boats and watch the airshow from Waterfront Park, one of Walt's favorite places. We started to go in to see the Tall ships and quickly realized that the people on the boats were not moving at the pace that a 3 year old and 18 month old needed to move at, so we saved our $40 and looked at them from the park. Next year we will ride the boat over to the harbour and look at them from there. The people doing this were way smarter and probably way cooler as we melted that June afternoon outside. We did stay around for the airshow and the kids were both excited to see the crazy tricks the two planes were doing. We enjoyed some frozen lemonades, swung on the pier, ran through the grass, and splashed just a little in Pineapple Fountain. It was a fun day for all.
WOAH! Look at those cool airplanes doing trickidy tricks!!!

Beach Week
We spent the third week in June down at Garden City with my family and had a great time. Walt and Emmie love getting some special time with Nanna and Papa. And this year my dad rescued Tucker from a week at the kennel giving him an invite to the beach. Amazingly he was such a good boy, that he may get invited again. Walt and Emmie both loved jumping in the waves. Walt especially loved doing it with his daddy and Papa. He told me several times that I'm not big and strong enough to jump the waves, only Daddy, Papa, and Walt were. Before Boyd left on Wednesday, he gave me a quick tutorial on engineering a hole in the sand to create the perfect pool for the kids to play in. I think Dad and I succeeded in building sufficient pools. Nanna and Papa also brought a kiddy pool for swimming after the beach. Walt practiced all of his swimming moves that he had just learned and Emmie immediately repeated what she saw him do. I believe Emmie's motto in life is, "If he can do it, so can I!" And what would a trip to Garden City be without a trip to a Wings and the arcade? I tell ya', it's amazing no one gets hurt and nothing gets broken when Walt and Emmie play Skee-Ball, but they have so much fun. We are all looking forward to put-put and the rides next year.
