First Days of School
Walt and Emmie both started school at the beginning of September. Walt had been looking forward to going back for a while, I'm not too sure that Emmie knew what was happening. Walt is going 3 days this year, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and even gets to stay for lunch. This has been such a big deal. He picked out his space lunch box and gets so excited every day about packing a lunch and eating with his friends. His teachers say that he is a pretty good eater, being the first one to finish his entire lunch to continue playing. Emmie is going to Mother's Morning out on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The first day she went right in to play and was fine until another little boys gave her the ok to cry. Once she saw him screaming she let loose and screamed from 30-40 minutes. Goldfish fix most everything with Emmie and they worked that day too. This past Thursday, Emmie had a great day, no tears just playing! She tells me that she played with the babies at school. It occurred to me, that Emmie isn't referring just to the baby dolls, but the babies in her class. You see, she has only really played with 3 year olds (Walt and his friends), so I think she thinks she is 3 1/2 too and that the kids her age in her class are babies.

Priceless
Kids do the funniest things and have a great time doing them! Dancing in the swing in her favorite outfit, "My Tutu". She would like to wear it everyday, everywhere!
The new favorite hiding place and just plain, play place, inside the oven and dishwasher of their kitchen.
Best Friends in deed! Walt wanted to get in Emmie's crib with her. She couldn't have been more thrilled.

Paul & Meredith's Wedding
My little brother, Paul married a great girl, Meredith on August 29. What a happy couple! They were one of the happiest and in love couples I have seen on their wedding day. It was so fun that we all got to be a part of it. I was a bridesmaid, Boyd was a groomsman, and Walt was the ring bearer. Emmie did get to come party at the reception for a little while. Walt did a good job being the ring bearer. He made it all the way down the aisle, stood up on stage for a moment, then picked his nose the whole way down the stage and into Nanna's lap! So funny and cute! We wish Uncle Paul and Aunt Meredith all the best!
Walt has said some pretty funny things associated with their wedding. He kept saying he was going to marry Paul before the wedding. Then when we went to Columbia last weekend and took them their wedding present, Walt asked if we could take it to Uncle Paul's house so he could see his Christmas tree with all the wedding presents! And, last night as I was putting Walt to bed he asked, "Mommy, does Uncle Paul live on a honeymoon?" By the looks of how happy Paul and Meredith are, I'd say they are living a honeymoon life. The rehearsal dinner at McCrady's

Emmie's Baptism
Emmie was baptized on July 26, 2009. My grandfather that married Boyd and me and baptized Walt was there to baptize Emmie. And we were able to use the my grandmother's father's baptismal bowl in the service. All of these traditions topped with over 30 of our family members there made it such a special day. Since Emmie was 18 months getting baptized, she was not too keen on the idea of our preacher carrying her down the aisle as she was introduced to the church. He handled it so well, and just said the three of us will take a little walk. He also pointed out to the congregation that the front left half of the church was Emmie's family. After church, we had our family back to our house for brunch. It is so wonderful to be close to family again and to share such special moments in our lives with them.
Walt was just doing a little preachin' after the service.
