Spring Break

The last day of Mother's Morning Out before Spring Break and Easter, Walter had his Easter party and Egg Hunt at school. Too cute. I decided that we should take a picture of the class, so I could update Walter's picture board in his room with all of his friends from this year. This was a challenge...the kids stayed pretty spread out and all 16 were there. Emmie thinks she is in the class as well and joined the picture.
I tried to plan a fun week of activities since we didn't have school, kindermusik or the library program. So we joined everyone and their brother at the SC Aquarium on Tuesday. It was the first time that Emmie got to walk there, and they both did a great job listening. There were simply just too many people there. I now know that if you have to park further than the second floor of the parking deck right by the elevator, GO HOME!

When we first found out we were moving to Charleston, I started thinking how fun it would be to just drive up to Cola for the day to do something with the kids. Almost a year later, and we finally did it. We spent Wednesday at the Riverbanks Zoo with Nanna. I was so excited about our trip and had told Walter we would stop at Papa's office before the zoo to say hi and go potty. Putting Walter to bed Tuesday night, I asked him what we were going to do the next day expecting him to excitedly say go to the zoo. Instead he says, "we are going to Papa's office". Me: Yes, what else? "We are going to ride the elevator." Me: And go to the zoo??? "Oh yea, that too. We did do all of the above and it was so much fun, and exhausting. We stayed at the zoo far longer than expected. Walter and Emmie both loved riding the carousel.

Walter enjoyed a little ice cream before we left.

Emmie loved the rabbits. She kept saying, "Rabbi, Rabbi". After a minute she walked over to the stroller and got her "Rabbi" out to show them her rabbit lovie!
Walter enjoyed his train ride, Emmie not so much.
On Thursday our final outing for the week was for a picnic at the IOP park with Charlie and his sisters, Nick and Alex. Great park with such great friends! What a fun week!

I am so proud of Walter and Emmie's parents. Grandchildren like Walter and Emmie don't just happen; they are consistently, lovingly shaped and nurtured every day. Congratulations Paige and Boyd! PaPa
